The Mariahoeve

The Mariahoeve is a small open-air museum showcasing former life on a Veluwe farm. Complete with vegetable garden, orchard, tuber field and toad pool.
The Mariahoeve is an example of the farms that sprung up like mushrooms after 1900. These were family farms with a few acres of arable land for growing grain, potatoes and fodder beets and keeping cows, pigs, chickens and horses.
What makes the Mariahoeve unique is that everything is still there, just as Mary left it. The furniture is still in place, clothes and linens are in the closets and the basement is still filled with Weck jars. In addition to the museum, there are various activities at The Mariahoeve and there is also a tea shop where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with something tasty. De Mariahoeve is less than a kilometer from Kasteel De Vanenburg and is, therefore, definitely worth a visit.
